Case study
Challenge
The client came to us with a tight window and a high-stakes concept: launch a Web3 game on the Solana blockchain timed to FIFA World Cup 2026 hype. The product needed to be live before the tournament started, handle real SOL transactions on-chain without friction, and deliver a PvP experience simple enough for a crypto-curious football fan — not just a seasoned DeFi user.
Technical constraints were significant. The game economy had to be self-sustaining: every purchase, training, raid, and top-up generates protocol fees distributed across multiple pools (referral rewards, Daily Bank, Final Bank, and platform treasury) in real time. Smart contract logic had to be provably fair — every raid outcome verifiable via a public hash on random.org.
On top of that: a Telegram-first launch strategy, a token staking mechanic ($ULTRAS), and a real-time match data feed tied to live World Cup results — all integrated into a single web app.
Solution
VVDevs designed and built the full-stack platform: game logic, smart contracts on Solana, and the web frontend.
Game mechanics implemented:
- Card purchase flow (0.1–10 SOL per card, 80% of payment credited as SOL value)
- PvP Raid system with win-probability math, risk multiplier table (K), and 4-hour cooldown
- 12-hour training cycle with loss-reduction bonuses for trained cards
- SOL top-up and withdrawal flows (cards become inactive post-withdrawal)
- $ULTRAS staking tiers reducing raid cooldowns (15% / 25% / 40%)
Reward distribution engine:
- 20% protocol fee split across 5 buckets on every action
- Daily Bank: snapshot of trained winning-nation cards after each match day; proportional SOL distribution
- Final Bank: tournament-end payout to cards of the World Cup champion nation
- 3% passive fee to all active cards on every transaction
Provably fair raids:
Every raid generates a unique verification hash. Players can independently verify outcomes on random.org against the displayed win probability.
Frontend: fast, mobile-first web app with wallet connect (Solana wallets), live card state, raid targets, and match schedule.
Results
- ✅ Launched on time before FIFA World Cup 2026 kick-off
- 700+ peak active users
- Platform ran without critical incidents through 2 weeks of live tournament play
- Provably fair system: zero disputes on raid outcomes
Stack
- Blockchain:Solana (smart contracts, on-chain transactions)
- Token: $ULTRAS (SPL token, staking mechanics)
- Frontend: React.js, Tailwind, Tanstack
- Backend / API: Nest.js, Node.js, Rust
- Real-time data: World Cup match feed integration
- Randomness: Provably fair via random.org hash verification
- Wallet connect: Solana wallet adapter
How We Built It
- 01
Game design & economy modeling
Designed the fee distribution system, risk multiplier table, Daily Bank mechanics, and $ULTRAS staking tiers to ensure a self-sustaining on-chain economy
- 02
Smart contracts on Solana
Built and audited Solana programs handling card purchases, raids, training, top-ups, and multi-bucket fee distribution — all on-chain.
- 03
Provably fair raid engine
Implemented a hash-based randomness system allowing any player to verify raid outcomes independently on random.org.
- 04
Frontend & wallet integration" description:
Built a mobile-first web app with Solana wallet adapter, live card state, raid target browser, and real-time World Cup match data.
- 05
Launch & live operations
Deployed before FIFA World Cup 2026 kick-off and operated through the full tournament without critical incidents.
“They're just crazy about WEB3—they built a platform, wrote smart contracts, and everything went perfectly. If you want a game or something else in Web3, they'll definitely make it for you without any problems.”
FAQ
How does the raid system work?
Each raid pits two cards against each other based on their SOL value. The win probability is calculated and displayed upfront. If you win, you steal up to 30% of the target's SOL (20% if the card is trained). Results are provably fair and independently verifiable via a unique hash on random.org.
What is the Daily Bank and how are rewards calculated?
The Daily Bank accumulates protocol fees from all game actions. Each day, 20% of the bank is distributed to trained cards from nations that won World Cup matches that day. Your share is proportional to your card's SOL value relative to all trained cards of that nation.
What role does $ULTRAS token play?
$ULTRAS is a staking token that reduces raid cooldowns. Staking $300/$500/$1000 in $ULTRAS reduces the standard 4-hour cooldown by 15%, 25%, or 40% respectively — giving active players a competitive edge.
How long did VVDevs take to build and launch Ultras.fun?
VVDevs built the full platform — smart contracts, game logic, reward distribution engine, and frontend — in 2 weeks, delivering the launch before FIFA World Cup 2026 began.
